I don't think the scroll looks quite right. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I like it...what were the window stickers like?

Maybe you should do a case sticker as well. Something along the lines of "B#@jo killer inside" or "Mando players do it in pairs"?

Sorry,
I thought it was serious. I guess that is what happens when you get too serious about your artwork.

Case sticker, sure how about?

"no its not a small guitar or a ukulele its a mandolin"

Case Sticker ----"No - It's Not A Little Guitar"

Bumper Sticker -- I really like it.

Remember the bumper stickers that said "My other car is a Mercedes" #How about a case sticker that says "My other mando is a July 9 Loar".:p

Looks cool...maybe we could have a "contest" to come up with alternative slogans though? Of course I have nothing witty handy currently...but if nothing else it'd be fun...

Warning: "I've got 8 strings and I know how to use them." Uh, maybe?

Stillpicking,
Yes, indeed, the scroll comment was a joke, poking fun at some of the comments from a couple of recent threads. #After reading Michael Lewis' post, I suspected you hadn't seen all the "scroll" posts, and took my message in earnest. #(Did you delete a post?) #Actually, I think it looks great, and would be a great case sticker as well, with case-type slogans along the lines of those mentioned. #Consider making them with several different slogans available. The slogan contest idea would be a kick; lots of clever folks with clever ideas out there, and you could get a handle on which ones would sell best.

I like it all right, but would leave the headstock plain (sans "inlay").

Here is a possibility. I am not an artist, but this is a rough idea that could be tweaked.

(Thanks to Bratche for the slogan from a previous thread!)

Thanks for all of the feedback so far.
Here are a few of my favorites so far with a couple new ones I just came up with. #I am thinking that if I get the right material the sticker could be used as either a case sticker or a bumper sticker.

No .... its not a small guitar

No....its not a uklele

This ax chops cords

Warning MAS can be habit forming

OK, here it is my latest artwork. Its a bumper sticker (3"x5"), I plan on putting this into production but before I do I would like to know if #anyone out there thinks they might go for one. If I get enough positive feedback I will put them up in the classifies for sale.
By the way, my (car) inside window stickers were a hit , thanks #to all who bought one & thanks for your feedback. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
OK, I don't see the image we're talking about.

I do like the F&A idea later in this thread, though.

Sorry I just remember the comments from another thread several months ago.

Hey, good morning to all you slogan writers and pickers !
I am having a great time with this thread/post! keep them coming.

"I'd rather be pickin' bluegrass and gettin' folked up"

My wife thought the above was rather funny, I like it too.

I will be collecting all of the "slogans " and I will be posting them all together so we can vote on the most unique & thought provoking?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif?

I think a dead line of #Monday #the 16th should give everyone enough time to submit. Then I will select what I think are the top picks (first cut) and all you folks can vote on your favorite by posting your vote. This will have to be "on your honor" as I have no way of #recounting un-punched voting cards and I will NOT take it to the Supreme Court, just kidding !

The "slogan" that gets the most votes will get the honor of being printed on the bumper/case stickers and receive #2 free stickers.

So lets get this going!

This is great! #I have only been playing for 18 months and am already getting annoyed with the little guitar or uke question. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif # I would deffinatly buy some!

Here we go. For the record, I stole/borrowed the concept from Charlie J. who posted that he saw something similar at a festival. Oh, and the mando artwork I nabbed from licreeksters post. (Just trying to be honest here.) My only idea was to mix it all together.

Aug-16-2004, 9:46am
Allright, one more version. I feel like there should maybe be something else in the middle than just the mando. Maybe some notes or possibly two mandos crossed.

Looks nice, but the contest is not for creating the artwork but just for the best slogan. The art for the bumper/case sticker is already finished. You can view that image in my first post on the # 1 page for this thread.

I would love to see more artwork but maybe we could do that on another thread sometime.

OK, all of you time zone pickers, you must be up by now so lets see some west coast and middle America slogans, what #have you all got. #Folks down south should have a say also !

Thanks

How about (not for the ladies) but on the black bumper sticker:

"Just cuz I have a small instrument, don't mean I don't know how to use it"

or

"I'll pick, you grin"

Those all sound good, these will make the first cut for sure.
Remember you all have until 12 midnight tonight (EST.) to submit a slogan for the contest, winner gets 2 free case/bumper stickers.
I will be posting all of the first cut slogans about midweek so keep an eye out for it as " The great mando slogan vote" or something like that.

keep em coming !!!! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

I love the bluegrass choppers design. Having crossed mandos, an F and an A model, in the middle might be nice.

"Whip It Like A Mule!"
- supposedly Bill Monroe's answer to a young Ricky Skaggs question about 'how do you get your mandolin to sound that way?'

It's now frequently shouted out by our banjo player when I take a break on a song during jam sessions. Cracks me up. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
