I want to have my mandolin setup professionally and I don't really trust any local shops as they only "sell" mandolins and really don't seem to know a lot about them. I want a good job but can't afford an enormous price. I bought an Epiphone MM-50 a few months ago and I realize I will not be able to afford a better one any time soon, so I figured I would get the best out of this one that I can. I don't mind shipping it off, I am just not sure where I should ship it. What are some of your experiences and if its not too personal could you give me an idea of what it cost you if you sent yours somewhere.

Hi Jacob,
I learned the luthier trade in the mid 1970s and enjoy applying many years of experience to offer exceptional setups. You can read comments on http://www.themandoshop.com/Comments.htm to see how people feel about my setup and service.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss shipping your mandolin to me for a setup.

Hi Jacob - Having your Mandolin set up properly is a good idea. You could help others to help you by stating where you live, that way somebody may be able to advise you re.a 'local' luthier who could do the job for you,
Ivan
Darn it !! - Kyle beat me to it by 2 minutes - but you've got a good offer straight off.

A professional set up is well worth the investment. It can make even an inexpensive mandolin come alive. I don't know where you are located, but you are certainly welcome to send it to us. We do LOTS of mandolin set ups and other repairs.

Sending it off is a good idea. If you actually saw what they do to your 'baby' in that secret back room you'd faint dead away.
