I am looking after someone's cat for them, and it meows a B note. At this time of day it wants feeding and meows constantly. If I play a B minor chord, followed by an A, then a G major 7 and the cat keeps meowing a B note over the progression, it sounds great.

Plus, it's cheaper than buying cat food.

The changes to "All Along the Watchtower", more or less

"Ouside in the cold distance
'someone's cat' did yowl...."

That's why it sounds good, isn't it - the cat is doing Hendrix's solo.

Cool with musical cats. Mine escaped - but mostly when I played the tin whistle.

That's close to the bagpipe key isn't it? Coincidence?

"il mondo cane" takes on special meaning around feeding time - when they're most vocal ... must pursue them with the korg chromatic tuner - don't know in which key they're supplicating but it would be interesting to know ... great idea!

Now that the "How many cats can you fit in a mandolin case?" thread is slowing down, it was just a matter of time till someone started the "what note is your cat meowing?" thread... :whistling:

And just think of the sonic dampening a hairball would have on a mandolin.:disbelief:

It is cheaper than cat food, but if you don't feed the cat, then he/she will stop yowling (might be interesting to see how the pitch changes as that happens...)

I'm just hoping I don't mistakenly hit the feline equivalent of the brown note.

Just don't try playing "Star Spangled Banner" on the vaccuum cleaner.:))

"oh, say, can you see, what Furball did to me?"
