Someone just turned me on to the "Yonder Mtn. String" band. I've been jamming along to one particular song. Do any of you "Yonderites" know the name of it. The chorus goes, "I'll see you in the morning if I live. I'll see you in the morning if I don't get killed....... " Any help would be appreciated.

I believe the song is "My Gal". Yonder got it off a bootleg recording by Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions. Yonder changes some of the verses around and play it a lot faster than the original. The original featured Jerry Garcia on Banjo, Bob Weir on Guitar and Pig Pen on vocals. YMSB has played a couple of other tunes off this bootleg.

You can hear a pretty strong influence of this recording/genre in other YMSB originals like Ben's song "what's going on in the head of that woman".

The Jim Kweskin Jug band did that one back in the sixties, and it's older than that.
