I was doing a mando camp in MN this past March and Joe Walters had this ovation mandolin, i have never played one..let alone through an amp.
It screemed!!

Pretty cool playing, but I'd prefer to do that on a solid-body electric -- though you're not getting any feedback there until you wanted it. Fun stuff.
