Has anyone played both of these mandolins
how do they compare?

The Loar looks better to the eye but the RM75 sounds better to the ears - no comparison in sound in my humble opinion. The RM75's once set up with bone nuts, have a surprising good tone for the money.

I am thinking of buying one of these in the near future. Or if I can come up with enough money maybe the LM 600 vs.

I agree with the Mandolin Store. I own a RM75 and had a set up, frets dressed and nut replaced with bone all for under $100.00. The mando is a joy to play and have had good comments about it's sound (not my playing):)

I really like the LM 600 vs but the price on the Rover is so much better.
I wonder if the LM 600 is sound good enough to justify the extra money?
