I just wanted to make a post regarding Trevor's establishment in the UK. I have been dealing with him regarding a trade-in from the states. It was scary to send my old mandolin over in hopes of acquiring a new one. However, they made me feel comfortable, and were very accommodating to shipping etc.

All in all, my point is... If there is a mandolin over there (which they have MANY one of a kinds) at the store, I highly recommend not be deterred by the overseas transaction. They are AWESOME.

What are you trading and what are you getting?

I've found that shipping to the UK is just as fast and about the same price as shipping within the U.S., provided you have your own insurance or the person you're shipping to has insurance. I can vouch for Trevor's integrity as well.

Great point. I found the shipping not such a big deal. The cost is a bit more...but only by a small amount considering.

All in all great experience.

I had the pleasure of visiting the shop last time I was in the U.K., and I was able to play some terrific mandolins. I'll probably make the trip down to Brighton again in June on my next trip.

I've purchased all my instruments from TAMCO,of course being IN the UK makes it much easier to buy/trade,but re.Trevor's integrity i can vouch for that big time. On a number of occasions he's offered to pay the cost of shipping & other costs, when realistically it was my job to pay. Trevor deals with many makers in the USA & he's used to shipping instruments back & forth,so if anyone in the US thinks of buying from him,he's the guy to get it done properly,

PS - Ben,it was great of you to post this thread & draw attention to the best Mandolin store in the UK. - & no,i won't be getting a free Mandolin from TAMCO !!!:))

For the last decade I've thought that TAMCO was the only place to buy a mandolin.
