So what is the best I ask because I have a very hard time trying to mic my mando (doesn't work at all) so I need an electric. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Whether it's the best or not, you can decide, but I have a Fender FM-61se that I can sell you for under $500.00 - like $395.00. It is a hollow body electric (i.e., you can use it for acoustic practice on the front porch) with separate tone and volume knobs. It is in very good condition with a small nick on the reverse of the headstock. I bought a new oblong case for it (it is for the exact mandolin) and it plays/works well.
The Fender FM-61se is no longer made. It was discontinued several years ago. I thought it may be a nice mandolin for my collection, having a teen rocker. However, he is going to the electric guitar and electric bass and is not showing any interest in the Fender mandolin. If you are interested, you can email to fatt-dad@richmond.com

I kinda want a solid body so I can plug headphones in and no one will tell me to stop cause they can't hear.

I got one of those, too, #top is real thick, bridge sits on a big, glued to the top and bottom block, thru the body strings, so unplugged is only slightly #louder than a plank.
and have you heard the term 'put a sock in it' one, extra muting method that's free. (said a lot to banjo players)
