Here's a question for Charlie or Big Joe at Gibson. Why is the Master Model in the classifieds signed by Danny Roberts? I thought all Masters are signed by Charlie Derrington. The serial number is very different from others that I have seen ,as well as the one I own.

Good question.
My guess is (at least the date is about right) that was during the period I was out for quite some time with a rough bout of kidney stones.
I believe that is the only one that we ever shipped without my signature. However, if I were to get hit by a truck tomorrow, there is no one I would trust more (to leave things in the hands of) than my right hand mando man, Danny.

So does that make this particular mandolin a collectors' item? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

The serial number on the Master Model in question is different. #I think it's a 3XXXXX number rather than a V7XXXXX number. #Would Danny change the serial # in addition to signing his name?

Is there such a thing as an A5-L Master Model Mandolin? There is one on Ebay described as such. If so would it be signed by Charlie Derrington?

I think most mando people know the answer to that one! How many people put mandos on Ebay with the words Master Model in the description, or Gibson, or Gibson killer? Yeah right, an A-5 master model....most Gibson's have the Master Model label but that does not make them a "MM"! Let's see that one Charlie or BigJoe!

Even some of the Nashville Flatirons have "Gibson Master Model" stickers in them ... like mine.

Why yes. I think all mandolin collections should include a master model - ha.

I do not see it. Was it re-listed as a Fern?
