I downloaded Flatbush Waltz (http://www.mandozine.com/music/tabledit_files/FlatbushWaltz-Gm-Peters.tef) *Gm advanced) from Mandozine, and I notice that some of the notes are displayed in blue, others are displayed in red, and still others are simply black. What does the color coding signify? Anyone know?

Anyone else use TEF software as featured on Mandozine?

Looks like it's a duration error thing.

So I'll get a few measures of notes where the head is red and a few measures where it's mostly blue but partly black. Doesn't seem to be highlighting errors, but some kind of player cue.

Tef file note heads can end up being custom coloured for a few different reasons: timing errors, playing prompts, or, as may be what has happened here, if note stems have been forced in a different direction (blue for downward pointing stems, red for up)

Keepin' tuned ...
