Love this website; so much information!! Just wondering if anyone has any favorite tabulatures that would be easy enough for a fairly new player to do. Also, if anyone has any websites for easy tabs I'd love to hear from you!
Thanks for all your help!
Look for tabs that are easy to read rhythmically, with eighth notes being the shortest duration notes used. If you are just starting, pick direction indicators for each note are helpful as well. Mel Bay's Deluxe Bluegrass Mandolin Method by Ray Valla
is an example. (It has a lot of well-known tunes, although sometimes the versions are a bit different
than commonly heard.) I have also found that most beginners can read the tab where the lines representing each string go through the fret numbers, rather than having the fret numbers sitting above the lines representing the strings. (However, I've noticed that once the player becomes comfortable with reading tablature, they don't usually have any problems reading different styles of tab.) There are a lot of good books out there, but some are a lot harder for a beginner to comprehend just because of the style in which they are written.

I have learned ALOT from this site and have found the tab section here invaluable. I also like www.alltabs.com where you can listen to a tune and get the tabs, or even standard notation.
