There's nothing quite as exciting to me as the prospect of a Mighty Session!
Tangential... I heard a lot of folks here in the US, self-identified traddies slagging Riverdance
often and with gusto. I didn't know the difference myself. At the time I was just beginning to
learn 'the lay of the land' in Irish trad circles here in the US. But when we visited Ireland we
would meet folks from tiny villages and townlands where the music had just kept on all those years, and whose musical sons and daughters had auditioned for various Riverdance (and later Lord of the Dance) and had found The Key To The Highway (to use an Americanism) and seen
the world, sent money home and found good subsequent gigs. In many rural areas Mr. Flatley's
work was thus held in great esteem.
