Will the holes line up on an a-jr tailpiece from the clamshell to the traditional? Or will modifications be in order?

The clamshell and the traditional taipiece have different patterns for the screw holes.
You can drill out the new tailpiece to the old pattern and not have to modify the mandolin. At the same time you can screw a strap button to it and use a strap with the JR.
Thanks for the info. I was hoping to find a repro 2-piece clamshell, it's got a nifty little groove so you can thread some leather thru, and I wouldn't need a button. The only issue with the present one is that one of the G tines broke, so I'm doubling up on the D. Sooner or later, that one's bound to go, but maybe not..
Y'know it's funny, at first I thought the clamshell looked cheezy, now I like it.
