Is there any way to rip audio from a DVD and save it on computer as Itunes compatable or W-Media-Player WMA ?
Would love to convert songs off a few DVDs while traveling and play them for practice tracks, and especially run them through amslowdowner.

A quick 'n dirty solution is the free Audacity audio program (link here (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)). Launch the program, and select "What U Hear" from the input source window, and click the "Record" button to start it recording in the background. It will grab whatever's passing through the computer's sound system, including a DVD playing. This also works for things like YouTube videos, if you just want a file of the audio. After recording, trim off any material you don't want on the head and tail, and save it out as an MP3 for iTunes or whatever.
There are other, more involved ways to rip audio from a DVD, and depending on your computer's sound card and internal settings, it might not capture the full audio in the same bit depth and resolution as the DVD. But that won't matter if you're converting to MP3 anyway, which is just 16 bit/44 kHz audio.
Google "rip dvd audio". You'll find that various software exists - some free.
