They were known as the World's Loudest Band, back in the day. They also did a cover of Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues".

That would be "Blue Cheer" and "Summertime Blues." They were so loud, it is said that their Outside Inside album was recorded on the docks of San Francisco because they were too loud for the studio.
What a band. They had hair 'down to their waists' by 1968, meaning they didn't just start growing it, they'd been working at it a while.
Not the same as the latecomer Frijid Pink. :)

I actually saw this group perform in Wheeling, WV back in the day. I must say they sounded better on the recording than they did live. I seem to remember the single having a lot of reverb and vibrato.

I bought the 45 when the song first came out back in the day. I've not heard this version in probably 30+ years.

One thing is a kid at my high school said he was in the band to impress a girl. I was announced on the loud speaker he would be Ed Sullivan. I watched the show and the hoax was revealed. I still oved the album back in the day and since I just found the CD it makes me think of little me in 70.
also here is a clip on u tube

Thanks for the you tube clip - sounded better than what I remembered. Love that tone from the Les Paul!

Ah, the memories. . . Right about the time I got my first mandolin (somebody had to mention the mandolin, eh?).
