Hello everyone,
I'm looking for opinions of the JBovier A4, the oval-holed model. Based on a search of posts here, the Bovier seems to be a highly regarded pac-rim instrument, but I don't remember any specific comments on this one.
You may recall a few weeks ago I asked about the Kentucky and the Michael Kelly oval hole models. Since then I've played the Kentucky, and thought it sounded fine (but note great), but it was not so playable, for me anyway. Also, it seemed sort of cheap feeling. Of course, I'm not being totally fair, as I also played the Collings oval hole in the same trip.
I'm sort of hoping the Bovier will satisfy my yen for an oval hole, as it's about 1/5th the cost of the Collings. OTOH it's hard to find an online dealer, never mind a place I can get to play it in person. Hence my asking for people's experience with it.
Thanks for any/all advice,
DWP
