I'm going to Washington D.C. this week. #Are there any great (or even good) mando stores there?
Thanks. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

House of Musical Traditions in Tacoma Park MD (right on the DC line) is pretty good. There are some great Bluegrass type stores within an hours drive in MD and VA.

Melodee Music in Lessburg, Va has a good selection on mandolins usually. #They have another store but this is usually the best for mandolin.

Appalachian Music in Catonsville, MD is a good choice but their inventory varies a lot.

Picker's Supply in Fredericksburg, Va usually has has good selection.

That should give you a choice in several major directions.

The two Maryland choices (the one I gave and the one in the earlier post) tend to have the imports and the lower priced Webers.

The Good Deale Bluegrass Shop in Deale, Md is a Martin Dealer and has Parker mandolins. The Great Outdoors in North Beach, MD is a Rigel Dealer. Chuck Levins Washington Music Center is in Wheaton.
