Wow, that is just a few miles away from me too. I didn't know that there were any builders in this area.

I have not met Olin, but I play one of his mandos. Serial #16 is in my hands and I have played #10 and #15 and they are all strong instruments. On my list of things to do is to make a road trip to visit the boy.

I've heard from others, that he makes a very fine mandolin...I didn't realize he was in Lexington though....I'm just a few miles up the road too...G'ville, SC.

I play with the guy who owns #15. WOW! They are great mandolins. Have also played a "Fern" inlay Rattler. Like gh_mando said, "Strong instruments".
