..I think it was Frets Magazine produced a poster that had a slew of mando headstocks with different inlays represented....all kinds of designs and such...they were Gibson mostly I believe but there may have been others too. Anybody know what im talking about and if so would you be interested in sharing it?

Yep, have it framed, it was called The Artistry of Pegheads. Mostly mandolins, had a few banjos. There was also one called The Artistry of Necks, or something like that.

tsk, tsk...Scotti, you should know there is a copy of that image tacked to the wall of Ben Wilcox's/Michael Allen's shop. You should ask Ben where he got his.

Well... If we get enough pictures (with author's permission), we can design a poster... The price for posters (23 x 35 inch) at cafe shops is $17.99...
Could be a fun thing to do!
Any chance of a photo of the original poster? Just to get an idea...

I was given a copy of this poster a few years back. It had been rolled up and had quite a few wrinkles and creases. I glued it to a piece of foam board so it would lay flat and it does look cool. I probably should have taken it to a frame shop, they could have done a better job.

There's a very great thread on peg heads in the Post a Pic of your mando http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I got ideas for mine from there...

Take a peek at that page....that should get your imagination started...I really like the DePaule Deco and the Vega "C" inlays. I'm not sure if you could shrink them to fit a mando but they sure look cool to me.

The poster was included in an issue of Frets magazine while Roger Siminoff was the editor. If anyone knows where there might be spares, I would think Roger would know.

Scotti,
I stopped by Vernon's Shop on Saturday after work and he has one of the posters hanging on the wall. #You may be able to get it from him or ask him about finding one.
