I am looking for some people to do a little pickin with. I have only been playing a few months so I would prefer someone with equivalent skills or maybe a little better than me. I am pretty shy still with my playing so not really looking for great players, just someone to learn and share things with. I have been playing guitar on and off for about 7 or 8 years but I am nowhere near that good on guitar, but it does give me some edge on the mandolin I guess. Anyone around this area, let me know. I am 28 but am just fine playing with older folks too. Ive found you can learn a lot from your elders, not just musically.

I am about to start my last semester at TRCC in Poplar Bluff but will be starting at SEMO in August of 2010. It would be great to get a jam together throught the week during college. I don't get to play around here very much anymore.

I live in Cape Girardeau. I'd be happy to hear from any / all of you. My phone is 334 6465. Feel free to call and maybe we can set up something. I have just been playing mandolin this year, and am a long time bluegrass picker (5-string banjo) but took a hiatus from playing for a few years, and super rusty, but getting back in shape. Leevon, I'd like to pick with you sometime, too. I've read many good reviews about you and your band. I can't imagine how hectic it must be to go to school, and play jobs all over the country! Youth has its benefits, but that takes real dedication. For what it's worth, I went to SEMO in 1961, but didn't stay long. A year, I think! I'm 67 now, and ready to rip up some 'grass! Just holler...
