This is my first humble attempt at building an instrument. It is a Simnoff F-5 kit. I am having a blast putting it together. I have the fortune of living close to Austin Clark (http://clarkmandolins.com)who has been helping me along the way. He has been kind enough to let me use a few of his tools and his shop which is unbelievable. He is an amazing artist. It is so cool to see his mandolins in different phases of construction. I even got the chance to play one of his F-5's which was a treat. After I finish stumbling through this kit, I plan to build one from scratch. This hobby is very addicting. Any criticism is welcome by the way.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Looking good Mike! I'm about ready to put my back on and bind. Have some minor cosmetic issues, but overall I'm satisfied with what I've done so far.

Build on,

Mike-

Great looking build- very clean.

BTW- what type of carving tool is the one laying on the bench in the photo of the mando body with the spool clamps on it?

Mike, That looks great! There is no turning back now; building is additive!
