Truly a great young man and one I'm looking forward to hearing for a long time. Owns a couple of nice mandolins as well :).

It's also the anniversary of a memorable 2008 performance of Blind Leaving the Blind at the Allen Room, part of Lincoln Center here in NYC. The space features a wall of glass behind the performers, and those in the front rows witnessed a total eclipse of the moon during the show, that pretty much coincided with the 4 movements of the piece. (I promise, I am not making this up)

Happy Birthday Chris Thile. It was your album Not All Who Wander Are Lost that started my lust of mandolins.
I was finally able to download the latest Woodsongs Punch performance and he was playing the Loar. That instrument truly sounds remarkable. Granted, look who is playing it. But still, a great instrument and a great player.
