I was listening to some of the mandolin cafe MP3 files and found myself wanting to know what Strickland used on the Anderson/Strickland "Cherokee Shuffle." I also realized I have not the slightest idea of how to find out. I've been listening to the many audio files on the web provided by vendors to showcase their wares, and I thought that info on the instruments (guitars/violins/etc, too) on the mp3 files would be really nice to have. Possibly educational. Certainly with the possibility of being misleading because it is much too hard to make a firm division between the skill of the performer with the quality of the instrument. But I'd like to know in general, so I didn't just send a question to Strickland.

In his case, he could even have used one of his own products, which would make it a really Strickland & Strickland operation on mandolin.

I believe that Spencer mentioned the mandolin as an Anderson, made by his friend Gerald Anderson.

I could be corrected.:)

Those guys make nice instruments. They learned the craft from Wayne Henderson.
