Hey gang,

After 3 long years in the making, my band the Kindreds has finally released our first CD. This has truely been a labor of love. We funded almost the entire thing with money as it trickled in from gigs. It was always a balancing act between cash flow and work/family priorities. It represents a tremendous personal accomplishment for me and the rest of the band. When I started playing mandolin in 91, my aspiration was to get to the point where I could perhaps make it through an open mike performance or something like that. It pays to play with good people though - it really helps you develop! I have also learned a tremendous amount from all of you.

Anyways, the CD is on CDbaby:
http://cdbaby.com/cd/kindreds

We have guitar, mandolin, bass and a little fiddle and 3-part vocal harmonies. Most of the songs were written by the guitar player, but I did write the 1 instrumental that we recorded (when you fly).

You can listen to most of the songs right on the CDbaby site. I am not trying to advertise to sell, but rather to share what we have accomplished and hear any impressions or feedback you might have.

Best Regards,

Rob

Thanks Rob ... enjoyed listening to the clips. Good job. My favorite is your instrumental "When You Fly"

Good to hear that the "long time coming" part of recording a CD was not relegated to my band (2 yrs and not finished...just yet). Everything on it will be either "ours" or written by a friend and "used by permission."

Thanks for the feedback all... if nothing else I hope that someday some kid plays it and says "hey listen to this recording grampa did a long time ago" :)

Cheers,
