I bought both my Weber instruments from TAMCO (The Acoustic Music Co.) in Brighton UK. I had reason to contact Trevor the owner of the store a couple of weeks back & he gave me to believe that because of the downturn of the £ UK against the $ US,thatthere most likely would be a price rise on 'new stock' his US built instruments. It looks like it's happening !. I just had a look at his site, & the price of a Weber 'Fern' has indeed increased by a fair old amount.
The point of this post is that if any UK player is considering buying a US built instrument from TAMCO ( the 'main' Mandolin store in the UK), you'd better get on with it. Trevor still looks to have some great instruments in
at the 'old' price - a few i wish i could afford personally.
It's inevitable that the prices on these instruments will increase. It's doing the US makers & UK dealers no good at all, just making it harder to trade.
So,if you're considering that US built Mandolin that you've been thinking about, unless you're somehow related to Bill Gates or have just won the lottery,go for it before it goes up by 25% (the rise that Trevor predicted),
Saska :(
