The 2009 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Lineup was announced today and once again includes some acts of particular interest to Mandolin and Bluegrass afficionados! The Fest, at the New Orleans Fairgrounds Race Track, is held annually, on the last weekend of April and the first weekend in May. (That's April 24-26 and April 30-May 3, 2009.)
This years scheduled acts include; Doc Watson, The Del McCoury Band, Driskill Mountain Boys, Sugarland, Emmylou Harris, and The Benji Davis Project. No word yet if Sam Bush will be back in town again this year at Tipitina's - last years event was great! Lots of Blues, Cajun and Zydeco artists are scheduled as well lots of Jazz and Funk. Since we don't get many high caliber Bluegrass acts here in NOLA, this is a real treat. Hope y'all can make it down for the fun.
