I knew no one would look at this if I didn't post something provocative , so:

A huge thanks to everyone that supported our Mandolins for Kids (http://www.mandolincafe.com/mandolinsforkids/) fund-raising effort.

Now, help us end this effort. As of posting this, I've decided to close it out if we can get $240 in cash donations or a single donated instrument. We'll be following up on where these instruments go, and who is using them.

But we need your help to get us over the top!

Wait a minute.... do you mean Loar and Elvis aren't alive? We've been duped....

Cut that make Scott stop it at $200 now. I'm like your NPR station, assuming you listen to one. I'm not going away until the goal is met. :mandosmiley:

OK, do we get the canvas Mandolin Cafe tote bag for a pledge of $200.00 or more?

Yeah, I know how that works - thanks for the prod Scott, I'm in.

Make that $180 remaining. I pitch for my local NPR as one of their musical guests so I have experience. I'm telling you, I'm not going away.

Brand new member here...

I've been lurking for a couple months and I'm more than happy to use my very first post to say that we are now closer to the goal.

And in the NPR vein, I would like to challenge members from Virginia to make a donation ;)

I too would like to challenge all of the cow bell players and clarinetists too!

But Pete, aren't clarinetists already challenged? :))

$120 remaining

Bypass a couple of those triple mocha latte's with whipped cream, vanilla syrup and sprinkles for two days and donate $10 instead. Your waistline will thank you!

This is sort of like watching the ball drop on New Year's Eve!

An anonymous donor has just contributed $5 and says he enjoys the Women with Mandolins thread every single day of the year and that's the only reason he comes to the Cafe.

One Ben Franklin will make me go away... just not forever, as you might wish :).

$100 remaining.

Oops. We're done! Stepped out for an hour, and I promise you I'm shutting up now :). Thank you all, again, for your generous support and for making this a very grand success.

Elvis was living in Kentville, Nova Scotia in recent years. I wondered where he had gone.
