I had these on another mandolin. Can't remember it they were six or eight sided. I like then because they're easy to adjust with a flat wrench. Any idea where to get something like this? I tried StewMac but there was nothing on their site.

You might check with your local hardware store for standard hex nuts of the proper machine thread to fit your posts. Or you can make them from brass hex stock if you have a drill and tap of appropriate size.

Adjusting posts are most commonly 5-40 or 6-32, either set screws or threaded rod. Hex nuts for both threads are available. If you can't find them through a local hardware or mill supply, try someplace like McMaster-Carr or MSC Industrial Supply, or etc.

The Weber 'traditional' bridge has hexagonal thumbwheels which are adjustable under string pressure. The only problem is that they are very shallow & the wheels are of brass whereas the wrench is of course, steel. One slip & you can take a couple of the hex.corners off. I know that
the brass looks better if the rest of the hardwear is gold plated, but i'd rather have 'brass plated' steel hexagonal thumbwheels. Brass & steel just don't work unless you're very careful,as i said, the deoth of the hex.is VERY shallow & doesn't give the wrench much leeway for slipping,
