Oh my gosh! I was bored and digging around on the internet and found Moonbeam mandolins. They make a purple one called Majestic Moon. I totally want that! It's PURPLE! WOW!
Anyone have any experience with Moonbeams?

Do a search on these pages....
I think there's some stuff that didn't get deleted... ;)

The look of the future and the sound of yesteryear. Sorry, had to say it.

I had the opportunity to play the full spectrum of Moon Beams at the Snowbird folk & bluegrass festival. They are certainly unique looking. I found some that I highly enjoyed and others that I did not care for. The distressed master model had a nice tone, played well, but in my opinion was not worth the asking price. If you ever have the opportunity to play any of them, take it! They certainly catch your eye!

Interesting
This caught my eye as: 1) I thought my old Mando-Lynn handle was somehow still floating around, any way welcome Mando_lynn, and 2) I recall responding in one of the old Moonbeam threads about playing a green Moonbeam A at Elderly that seemed to be an OK mandolin. The sound was woody and the price (which I didn't exactly recall then) seemed fair, it sold anyway. I think some members where turned off by unearned hype, but aside from that the instrument was alright.

I'd recommend some restraint in some of the borderline accusations being made. After some investigation, this is clearly not a case of someone associated with that company starting a thread about themselves. This user, while anonymous to you, has a known history with this site and is simply making an observation.

I got a chance to play several Moonbeams at a festival a couple of months ago. I think that they are pretty good. Probably not worth the asking price, IMHO. The tone quality varies from instrument to instrument. Some are good, some are decent. The workmanship is decent.
I think that his non-traditional designs are really cool. Once he becomes more consistent in his quality, those are going to be a hot item.
I would suggest playing one to get your own opinion on them before you make a final decision.

interesting designs. The prices seem a bit high considering their probable resale value. For me they seem a little gaudy and too electric guitarish. Would love to pick on one for a while though.

Never heard of them until your post. They look pretty slick but not quite my cup of tea. Guess I like more traditional colors. The Honey color looked pretty cool. Sure would like to have a chance to play one some time tho.

I haven't been on the site in a while and I forgot about this thread I started. It seems that there were a couple of folks who might have thought I was involved with Moonbeam and trying to scrape up some talk about it. And with me having like only two posts I guess it seemed suspicious.
I've actually been around for a few years as Tillmanator. But when the site switched servers I couldn't seem to figure out how to get my old screen name over on the new one. (Call me old and dumb....) Which was fine with me because I wanted to be Mando_Lynn anyway.
Sorry for causing a ruckus. I really was just curious about them having found their site one evening. I still want my Eastman F style oval hole. Gonna try again this Christmas!

You did nothing wrong, unless being interested in mandolins is a crime. It isn't here. Hopefully our membership will exercise a little more caution next time.
