I have medical/legal book due out in 2009. In the story the mandolin is symbolic of the truth, and the players are heroic.

On my blog I have started a series called "Mandolin Players I Know." Today's is on Sam Bush. I plan to post on this subject once a week.

Any input/comments/suggestions from the Cafe would be appreciated. As far as mandolins, the Cafe is the source, and I want my research to be as accurate as possible.

The information I post will not be news to you, but I hope my story will bring the mandolin to a new audience.

Thanks for your help.

Dr. B's idea is a terrific one. I'd like to suggest Alan Bibey, his sixth cousin on his mother's side, as one of his profiles. Those of you not familiar with his blog, should take a look at it, too. You can find it here (http://drtombibey.wordpress.com/). His blog combines, in a fascinating way, the life of a country doctor, a happy and involved bluegrass mandolin player, and a local mystery. He also takes Wednesdays off to play golf. Give the blog a look and think about mandolin pickers you'd like to read his take on. - Ted
