I will be converting a Gibson Tenor Lute soon to the Loar mandola that Lloyd never made. What I need is a case to hold it. It is currently in a sort of tenor banjo/mandola body type OHSC.
I would like a nice, good quality mandola case for an A style body, with H5 neck length.
Anyone have any ideas?

I have not seen his cases in person, but Rob Anderson-Dunamis Designs 920-989-1396, a Cafe member makes very reasonably priced attractive looking custom cases. Your other alternative is Modern Case Company but i think Rob might be similarly priced and have more options. I am sure he will read this posting anyway.

i did not have a good experience with modern case. they in advertantly left out room for the tuners, so the case had to go back. took eons and i am not thrilled with the final result but it will do for now. someone just told me about gww. they make cases for gibson.

I have a lightweight case that was made by the builder of the H-5 style mandola,
plush ,EPS And Canvas, and #10 coil zipper. straight sides, 2 blocks inside could be shifted to different shapes.

have considered a Webber case myself, fitted for the scroll, etc, would sell off this one when I drop the $170. for that one, gotta mail an outline to STE and see if its the right shaped hole .

Alt: see if an off the peg webber may serve your needs. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

I hope this isn't viewed as a thread highjack, so please forgive me. Does anyone know of a source for a twin mandolin case? Would this end up being a custom order?
Thanks,
Jim
