I bought a Washburn M3SW awhile back, my first foray into the mandolin. I've come to realize after starting to build my own mandolins that the neck was not set right on the Washburn. The neck angle was set way too low and the playing height was high even at the bridge"s lowest setting. I finally decided to call them today and they said to send it in. They seemed nice enough.
Anyone ever send a Mandolin back to the factory because you suspected a building flaw? How was your response?

Just thought that I would update this post. Washburn sent me a new mandolin and upgraded it to a M3SWE (with electrics) from a regular M3SW at no extra cost. The new one is great and sounds great plugged in. I thought that since they offered to upgrade, I would take it (figuring, in all honesty, that they didn't sound too great to begin with). Now I have an electric mandolin that sounds pretty good even when it's not plugged in. Really fun to play with a little delay, compressor, and fuzz box.
It only took 5 months wait!!!!! This one was built about 3 months ago.
