Just wondered if any folks who had been at the front of the line on Siminoff's new plans had any feedback on accuracy. Figure there's been some time for F5 fanatics to go over them with the proverbial fine tooth comb. What's the verdict? Accurate rendition of Loar specs? Inquiring minds want to know........ Thanks!

I'm referring to his "Pro Series" drawings of F5,F4,and A5.

Any URL where we can see these? I'm not sure I can 'jury' but I love technical drawings!

MM;
Roger gave me a complete set a few weeks ago but haven't had the time to give them more than a cursory look (although that quick look was impressive). I've built 10 mandos from a hodge podge of plans and guesses, so before I start on this next batch, I'm going to go over the F & A plans and compare them to what I know (which ain't nessesarily much or accurate!). I must say that the details look nice at first glance and I'm really looking forward to exploring them more completely.

I've used so many inaccurate plans and compensated that I probably won't know what to do without glaring inconsistancies and hidden train wrecks!

I have looked over a set of the Siminoff plans, and they are certainly close enough to qualify. There is no "perfect" Loar plan, as the original instruments had some variations. These plans will definitely get you in the ball park, the real test is what can you do with them. It is the same thing with the Stew/Mac kits, they give you everything you need to make a world class instrument, it is up to you to make it turn out that way.
