I signed up for the "Exercise And Technique" portion of Carlo Aonzo's Manhattan workshop in March of 2009.

Anyone else here sign up?

Well... I am registered for all other sessions, weekend-long, as I have done for the past several years. Wouldn't you want to join us for all that mando-orchestral fun? ;)

In fact, I did take the "Exercise and Technique" session once (or twice), and enjoyed it; I highly recommend it, although my own schedule makes attending a Friday morning session difficult, if not impossible.

Stick around, say "Hi!"...

Cheers,

Victor

Ditto what Victor says. I have never missed any of these New York Aonzo workshops. I did take the exercise part a few times in the early days but forego them -- not because i don't need them but just so I can get ready for the other fun. it is always an intense but super-inspiring weekend.

Also, for the last few years, Carlo has been scheduling a concert a day or so before. Hopefully that will happen next year as well and is certainly not to be missed.

I am light years from being qualified enough for the other sessions.

The one I'm in should be enough to keep me busy for the next 25 years.

By the way, for you veterans, will I be allowed to record the
"Exercises and Techniques" class, or is that a no-no?

I don't think that Carlo would object, but as a courtesy to instructors, I always as if it is all right to record. They usually encourage it.

Without a doubt. I'll run it by Chaim way in advance, just to make sure.

If I don't record it, I know that I should have. If I do record it, I'll never listen to it.

Just one of those things . . . .

Ira -

I know it will be.

I'm not up to the level of playing in the orchestra yet. Chaim did say that I could observe that class, if I chose. It's a scheduling thing, but I'm going to try to.

This is very exciting for me.

Bill:
Thanks for posting Ali's videos. I love Victor's Diferencias on the mandola but on the mandola it has an even more haunting feeling. Excellent!! And a real chance to see Ali play.
