Just back from a workshop with Steve Kauffman here in Cow Town. It was a very nice couple of hours working on barre A chop chords (I had no idea you could use anything other than Bill's shapes) which has now cured my "I don't know enough chords" problem. We also worked on melody playing and rapidly picked up a new tune. I also snagged a copy of the 1st volume of the "Mandolin Solos Everyone should Know" because tunes are a huge weakness for me.
Even better than the pickings were meeting new folks, including a few from here at the Cafe. Hi all! Coffee's on me. ~o)
Thanks once again to Dr. Jazz for putting this event on and for lending Steve that nice Weber two spruce F style. It was a very nice mandolin!
