I'm wondering how they perform with the tone bar braced Weber F style Mandolins. I'm thinking of trying one on my Yellowstone. For those of you that switched to this bridge, did you notice any improvement in tone? volume? Curious minds want to know.
They are advertised to be adjustable under string tension. Any comments related to the ease of adjusting? Looks like a neat design.
BTW, if you have one that you would like to sell, let me know.

I put one on my Yellowstone over a year ago and it's still there because I really like it. To my ears, it added punch and gave it a woodier sound. It comes with a special wrench for adjusting it any time - very nice and fits easily in the case. Weber also made sure that the bridge matched the radius.

Give it a shot. I think the traditional Brekke bridge has a more "traditional" bluegrass sound. It seemed to help my Yellowstone's volume when I made the change. Improved the chop chords greatly. The standard Brekke bridge seems to produce a sweeter more melodic tone, great for playing celtic.

I really like the traditional Brekke bridge on my Fern. I get very good punch and the best part is you can adjust it with ease anytime with the cool provided wrench. Nick

When the folks at weber built my mandolin thats the bridge I had them put on it, and I love it! However it is the only bridge thats ever been on that mandolin so I can't comment on any "change" in the sound of that mandolin. However while I was waiting for them to complete my mandolin I also ordered a Brekke Traditional bridge for another mandolin I had and The matched the radius as mentioned above and it made a world of differance in that mandolin. Better tone, better chop, more sustain, and more volume!!! I love that bridge and plan on putting one on all of my mandolins,........... Even the ones I don't own yet!
I switched from the standard Brekke bridge to a traditional (Loar-type) bridge on a Weber Bitterroot (f holes, tonebars) and it was a definite improvement in volume. The tone was good, but a little different, with both bridges.

I have a Yellowstone with the standard Brekke. I have modified X bracing and have always wondered if the traditional would help.I'm keeping it as is: It is loud, chunky, and warm now. No use twanging it up.
No complaints here!
