Hello everyone. I was wondering if there is anyone here who lives close to Jamestown NY. I am looking for someone I could spend a few hours a week working with as an apprentice. I have some wood working background.
Thanks

What kind of help are you looking for? Most of us work alone, maybe some with a partner, but most without helpers. Most would be reluctant to give away secrets they've pained years for, but maybe if you brought a case of good bière à l’ancienne you could infiltrate the ranks! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I would be happy to share what I know and have learned in my years but I am a tad far south of you. Sorry.

Don -

Where are you located? I'm in the Houston area and would love to spend some time helping/learning/sweeping a shop to see someone else's ideas on how these things go together.

I'm in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. I'm not near Houston I'm afraid. Sorry I can't help you out, Mark.

The more I thought about it ("what, you think?"), we share secrets here all the time anyway.. Reconsidering, I thought maybe you'd be near me (Montreal), but darn, you couldn't be in a farther corner of New York from me. Anyway, if you ever come to see the F-1s at Ile-Notre-Dame, stop on by and sey "hey"!

ps, don't confuse my weird sense of humor with a harsh attitude, I love having people in and talking wood #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
