I just got my Genest F-5 style mandolin from Bob. It's beautiful! You probably haven't heard of Bob; he's in Nashua, NH, and has only been building mandolins for between 5-10 years, I guess, but his work is impeccable. My mando is tobacco sunburst, gold hardware with pearl tuner buttons. The tone is out of this world. I played it over the phone for a friend who said that, even that way, this mando's voice is astounding. Oh, and Bob will build a lefty (like mine) at no extra charge.
