KM300E

I have not heard a peep about the new KM300E or maybe I just missed it.
A couple of weeks ago I bought an electric Kentucky mandolin (KM300E). For less than $250, this little 4-string has been lots of fun. It has a nice vintage look. The shape is such that it fits in a F-style case. The only problem I have had with it so far is that when I go back to my 8-string it's tough to make the transition.
Anybody else have any experience with one?

I noticed that the nut width is 1-1/8" and it has a neck rod; has anyone thought about turning one of these into an 8-string? (Or is Kentucky planning on coming out with an 8-string model?)
