Howdy folks. Does anyone know of any good books that cover acoustic recording techniques? An in-depth book that's somewhat easy to understand would be best.
Something that goes over mic placement, preamps, compression, etc...?
I met a fella a few weeks ago that has quite a nice studio in his basement. Basically a 24 track Mackie Studio board all running digitally into multiple computers/hard drives (in another room), plus multiple preamps, mics, rack units for just about everything, etc... He's never recorded acoustic instrumetns though, and is interested in reading a few books on the techniques involved. He's an electrical engineer, so big terms that might scare me probably won't scare him http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Thanks.
