I'm working my way through my method, making good progress (I think) and thouroughly enjoying it (I know!)
I'm learning Drones at the moment, and I'm finding it quite difficult to pick both strings on the up stroke. I was wondering if that's actually necessary. From what I understand, the point of playing a drone is to sustain a higher note, but if I pick the lower note string on the up stroke, I feel like I hear it too much, and it masks the higher note.
Anyone with advice on this? Both strings downstroke and both strings upstroke? or both strings downstroke and only the higher note string on the upstroke... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
Cheers!
