welcome twice - very envious of that recessed fretboard extension yours has over the sound hole. my new oval hole "f" makes no such concession - from above it looks a bit like a diving board ... or a pirate's plank.

Thanks! It's my first mandolin but I tried some this one and some cheaper ones at stores before I bought the A-O online. Hands down it was definetely worth the extra money for the Michael Kelly. Wonderful tone and ring, nice and loud although I will need to buy a pickup for live performances but that wont be for a couple mionths down the road. I would like to know some good string suggestions for Irish/Celtic music if anyone knows. I'm gonna wear the stock strings out quick at the rate of my practices.
