I first saw these beauties at Yee Haw, a Florida festival. #I followed my ear to a jam at the Moon Beam display. #I had to have one of these mandolins. #I learned a long time ago, never pass up the opportunity to purchase a mandolin of this quality and workmanship. #Immediately, I was looking for my wife. #We put down a $500 non-refundable deposit and ordered the next available F-Style. # I just received my new Harvest Moon about a week ago. #It has a 70 year aged Cedar top and the Red Maple is beautiful to say the least. #I can’t seem to put this one down. #The lead notes are clear and resonant. #The action is medium low which is just like I prefer with a 9.5” radius on the fingerboard. #The frets are a little larger than most which enables a very light touch and playability is consistent throughout all 22 frets. #Excellent #feel! #When I touch the strings, the vibrations shoot through my chest like a spike hammer. #The chop is like hitting a hollow log with a wooden baseball bat. #Not only the sound, but also little things such as the matching maple truss rod cover sets Moon Beam apart from the rest. # They spend the time to do the job correctly and it shows in the finished product. #This mandolin is a masterful instrument. #In my years of experience, I can honestly say #I will not find a better instrument at any price. #IT IS A MONSTER!!!! # #

Wow, what good fortune. Imagine the odds of going all the way to a festival in Florida just to be mesmorized by the sound of a mandolin made by a builder who seems to be just down the road from you back in Missouri. You guys must really be on the same plain acoustically because as I read your review (and details on how to place an order) I thought it had a very similar ring to the way the builder writes in his own website. Maybe he could use your testimonial in his advertising to try and generate a little business here at the cafe since past reports were not so glowing.

I am glad you enjoy it since according to the conditions on the website (and disgruntled customers here at the cafe) there is no approval period, you are stuck with it until he can resell it to refund YOUR money.

I'm sorry if I sound like I'm braggin on my mando. I'm just super excited. Isn't it funny how the man upstairs leads us in the right direction. I took the advice of some folks on here and I did ask Dale about Moon Beam, but he doesn't deal in the higher end F mandos.

I may be going out on a limb with this, but the only way that I can read this is that jcs271 seems to think that Glen Robertson of Moonbeam wrote the original post. If that's the case, why do you think this.

As for the unsatisfied customers jcs271 was talking about, I could only find one in a search of the message board at that was Dale. The problem had nothing to do with workmanship either. It had to do with delivery and deposit issues. I may be going out on a limb, but that looks like the same mando on moonbeams home page. Even all the tuners buttons are positioned the same like the pic was taken at the same time.

I hope that limb is strong enough to hold you Tom. #Maybe you need new spectacles. #From what I can see most of the Moon Beam web site photos are taken with the same back ground, maybe in a studio? #With some exceptions, such as a few outside photos. #The picture on the home page has a grey background whereas Dan’s photo was taken in what looks to be in front of some rocks with a Bass in the photo. #I don’t see the similarity. #

What is simular is the truss rod cover. _Exact same striping. And again, if you look at the tuners, each button is in the same exact position as far as the rotation. Given the unlimited 360degree, that is too much of a coincidence.

OK, I admit it, I sneak into Moonbeam every night and turn all the tuning knobs in the same direction, just never thought anybody would notice.
