How many of you have used the Sam Bush Mandolin Method DVD?
I see they also offer the book with the CD, but I'm guessing the DVD is better. I tried searching for this thread, but I couldn't find it.
I am thinking of buying this one with a gift certificate I got.
Thanks!

I got the Sam Bush book with six CD's and found it to be very good. I have not seen the DVD version and I'm not too sure whether or not seeing him actually doing it would be better, but I find that stopping and restarting the CD's are really pretty easy. I have never had too much luck trying to restart a DVD movie that I rented in the same place. Are the songs that he teaches on the DVD the same ones that he teaches on he CD version? That might be another consideration.
The DVD is great. Really informative.. Seeing is believing. He does a good job of teaching

I have the DVD and really like it. It is very easy to start and stop and find what you want on it. I use mostly CD's for learning, but I think if you don't have a teacher available that it is a real help to have one or two DVD's as well. On the Bush DVD they use a split screen and you can see very well what he is doing with both his hands as he plays. He also spends some time talking about his mandolin and his experiences as well as showing how he plays and what he is trying to do. I don't have his CD set, but it is different songs, and as I understand it is much different than what he does on the DVD.
