We have a church picnic gig, and it's not even my own church--it's not even my own denomination. Still no pay, but we get fed.
We are adding a bass player and a fiddle player to our band, so we sound pretty good. The fiddle player is too good for our group, though. And he doesn't like to hear me yodel. He's only 16, though, maybe he will grow in to it.

We will be performing at Stratton Mountain on the 3rd and 4th. Stratton web site has the details or check out Adamdewey.com for a link. It's a pretty mellow gig, but lots of fun.-Joe

I'm going busking! Gonna pitch myself underground and serenade the 'Bridge-n-Tunnel' crowd as they head into SF on the promise of fireworks ... whose bursts and booms will likely be obscured by fog.

I remember driving down to the Berkeley Marina on July 4th, 1976 for the bicentennial fireworks show. Couldn't see anything through the fog.

Playing three sets at the New Hope Valley Railway (http://nhvry.org) in Bonsal, NC. #Check out their Web site; even if you don't care to read about *us*, this is a great little place to visit if you're a train fancier.

We're not doing any gigs for July 4th, but we do have one scheduled for Sept. 11. It's not a gig to commemorate the date, it just happens to fall on the 11th. We're trying to decide what we should do to since it does fall on that date. It's a 1-1/2 hour gig at a local park. Part of a singer/songwriter series. Any ideas? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Pick one proper song to play that will let the audience that day matters to you all, but definately play the gig. The world always needs more live music ... that might be especially true on such a difficult anniversary.

Playing a privte fuction at the Atlanta Atheletic Club.
nothing on the 4th, but we played last night and the place was decked out in americana.
Yup, actually got two. We're playing up in Virginia City, NV, at the Silver Dollar for the afternoon festivities, then hustling down to Victorian Square in Sparks (right in front of the Great Basin Brewery) to play at 8 pm for the fireworks display. And we're headlining the Sierra Arts Fest today in downtown Reno. Busy weekend, as usual (except for the twofer tommorrow).
Yikes, who's our booking agent? Nobody. And nobody does a good job, and deserves twice his pay of nothing.

we played out in the hamptons on thursday the 1st, and for us it was quite the drive with work and all. so this weekend we have off. We used to book on the 4th but in our experience, audience wise (unless its an outdoor fest) the venues are empty. I guess because most folks out Q'n or setting off fireworks.
have a happy and safe one y'all
Cheers!
