I'm currently on a quest trying to find Mountain songs that I can learn on my mandolin! Nantucket Sleighride would be awesome on the mando... And is my main goal as of right now, although I #already know the chords (The soloing/fills are the hard part) and now I just need some 30 odd years as a rock musician in order to get the rest of the song down http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif .

Any pointers? Or wisdom that can be passed down?

In addition I'd like to say, If anyone has ANY tabs or transcribed songs of the band "Mountain" (Or any other Mountain-esk sounding songs), I would LOVE to see them... I am a huge fan of Mountain and would love to be able to play some of their stuff!

Thanks a Bunch,

"Theme From an Imaginary Western" would sound pretty cool on mandolin. However, I cannot help you with the music. Wish I could. Good luck with your search.

Let me have the chords and I'll work on it. Maybe together we can figger it out.

Ah, well thanks! Theme From An Imaginary Western would be extremely cool, well any of his songs would be cool. And I was thinking one that is VERY possible on the mando is "The Animal Trainer And The Toad" (very good too)

But heres the chords for:
Nantucket Sleighride (http://www.911tabs.com/link/?302888)

And this is for:
Theme From an Imaginary Western (http://www.911tabs.com/link/?302889)

And I wasn't able to find tab/chords/music for Animal Trainer and the Toad?

Tonight I'm gonna try to get down a RUFF version of "Theme From an Imaginary Western" and try it out... I'll tell everyone how it works out.

I haven't even got this far ahead yet, but any tips for soloing on Nantucket Sleighride?

Amen on Nantucket Sleighride. I've been working that one for a while, trying to get my bandmates to play it. A great song.
