When the Gibson mandolins were being made out of Bozeman,MT in the late 80's to mid 90's you heard a lot about Bruce Weber and Steve Carlson who signed off on the F5L models but who was Phil Berg who also signed them?
Where is he now? What did he do at the Bozeman factory?

Phil was the engineer at Flatiron for Steve Carlson and at Gibson/Flatiron for Bruce Weber. #He left Gibson/Flatiron to work for Steve Carlson's new company about a year before the Flatiron plant was moved from Belgrade to Nashville. #He still works for Steve in Belgrade. #

Phil is a great guy and a talented engineer. #At Flatiron, he programmed the CNC machines, designed and built the CNC and production fixtures/molds, supervised the facility maintenance staff, maintained the phone system and computer networks and was the main resource person for the office software. He also signed labels when Bruce was on vacation.
