Anybody ever seen an oval hole Strad-O-Lin? Anybody have a picture? This electric (http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-ANTIQUE-8-STRING-STRAD-O-LIN-MANDOLIN-IN-CASE_W0QQitemZ170238545529) came up in the EBay electric topic and it appears to be an oval hole Strad-O-Lin with added pickups, one of which covers most of the oval hole. But I don't recall ever seeing an oval hole Strad before and am wondering if it is original (I certainly doubt the electronics are original.)

Yes, take a look at this (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=43206;hl=stradolin). They aren't as common as the F hole models.

Okay, that one just made it into my jpeg archival library of Strad-O-Lins.

I have seen both an oval hole Strad-o-lin and a 2 point F hole one. The 2 point had a great sound as I remember.

I probably posted this elsewhere but I suppose it is appropriate. From 1940 Bugeleisen and Jacobson (New York) catalog.
