I've been practicing a lot lately, and I seem to be developing a tenderness on the bottom of my palm opposite my left thumb. I sense that it's fro curling my hand to reach up the neck. While I'm not seeking professional medical advice here, I was wondeirng if others experience this? Did something alleviate it? Am I doing something wrong technically? I did fall recently during a softball game, but my right arm took most of the brunt so I doubt it's related to that. It's not keeping me from playing yet, but I want to make sure it doesn't.

i go to a chiropractor fairly regularly for this kind of pain and others (my job has a lot of heavy lifting) and it seems to go away for about a week or two. also i use a gyro ball that my doc recommended and it seems to help with all my hand pain issues.

you may want to try and find some hand exersizes that move your muscles in the opposite direction of your playing. that helped me as well.

Carpal tunnel will make your hand go to sleep regularly, especially at night. Sounds more like bruising to me. I like the ball idea. But if it persists, see a specialist and/or a chiropractor. (I have had carpal tunnel in both hands and have had surgery by a hand specialist.)

I'm a writer and I do an extensive amount of typing which has given me C-T issues in the past, but his is different. I'm not a big believer in Chiropractic health. Some people swear by them and others at them. I've been in the latter category based on personal experience. My wife takes the opposite view, as she does on the value of mandolin music. I'll try to ball for starters for sure. Couldn't hurt, and if it does I'll stop.

Be conservative and allow for some recovery time. #Play less, take it easy, soak your hand in Epsom salts several hours before and right after playing.

I've been applying ice and taking Ibuprophen, both things my doctor has recommended.
