I came across a deal on a new A model "eastman" mandolin yesterday. It is triple bound everywhere (even the F holes)
curly maple back sides and neck spruce top and looks like a varnish finish! Great sounding little mandolin too. It is serial # 28. It also came with a realy nice case. Looks like a bobelock but I'm not sure. if anyone has one of these mandolins or knows anything about them pleas let me know. Thanks

Here's the website: http://www.eastmanstrings.com/eastmanguitars/mandolins/mandolins.html

And if you look down the message board a bit further, you'll find a discussion here: http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin....t=15764 (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=13;t=15764)

Made in China, but with higher standards than most that come from there. They have a good reputation for violins and guitars but their mandolins are new. I've played a couple. Very nice for the price, but I've also played Breedloves and Rigels that are priced similarly that I liked as well or better.
